What are Weingarten Rights?
Weingarten Rights refer to the legal right of employees to have union representation during investigatory interviews that could lead to disciplinary action. Established by the Supreme Court in 1975, these rights ensure that employees can request a union representative when they believe questioning may result in discipline.
If this discussion could in any way lead to my being disciplined, terminated, or have any effect on my personal working conditions, I respectfully request that my union representative, officer, or steward be present at this meeting. Without representation, I choose NOT to participate in this discussion.
